Hello Everyone!
This is my first official post since I started back to blogging and it has been a few years. Check out my ABOUT page for a quick intro on my return.
Pattern: Wilder Gown by Friday Pattern Company
Where does this fit into my sewing plan? Using my sewing plan that I outlined in my ABOUT page as a checklist let's see how I did:
- I like clean, simple styles - sew simple basic pieces -
- The Wilder Gown by Friday Pattern Company was such a simple, easy dress to sew and in my opinion a very simple basic style that looks gorgeous. It didn't take me long to make and I didn't have to rip seams or make adjustments.
- I love classic styles - sew with good fabric and make pieces that will last forever
- This fabric is a beautiful vintage fabric from my stash lightweight with a lovely drape.
- Build a wardrobe - sew items that work together, mix and match, and be cohesive
- It's a start.
- Work wear - I need more work clothes - Clothes for a professional office
- I think this dress can be styled multiple ways. I plan to add a pair of heels and a jacket for the office and sneakers or sandals for casual.
- No Waste & Storing - I plan to use my scraps. If I have enough fabric left over from a project to make a basic piece, I will do it. No more storing left over fabric planning to use it later.
- I have fabric left from the dress that I have already cut out into a simple blouse that will be great on its own or layered under a jacket. Stay tuned for that post.
-
- Fabric - I have a large fabric collection! I purchased a truck load of fabric when a local fabric store closed. An entire pickup full of fabric for under $100! Beautiful fabric that I want and need to use but it is OK to buy some new fabric when the project calls for it.
- This fabric came from my stash.
- Fun - I will add a few fun items😀
- Definitely a fun dress to wear and to sew.
This was a very easy pattern to cut and sew. I love the packaging of the pattern and the little notes they include in the instructions. I will definitely be making this again.
